Telesales Management

Computers are great for telesales administration.  We have recently written several systems which keep a record of the date, time and outcome of every approach made by your sales team.  They track the progress of sales, generate all the paperwork, including invoices, work out commission, produce ‘to do’ lists, and analyse results in every possible way.  For internet service directories they even publish the entries.

A computerised system is much easier to supervise and your operators are much more productive when they don’t have to spend time composing letters, looking-up prices or stock availability and scribbling incomprehensible reminders to themselves.

Another benefit is that anyone can see what stage a particular sale has reached; so that when the customer rings up at half past seven, when everyone except the boss is long gone, and asks to speak to someone who left last week anyway, they can still be dealt with in a knowledgeable fashion.

Telesales systems are complicated and tricky to get right, especially where you are selling services, or have a lot of different products, so you need to budget for at least £10,000 and it could be quite a lot more.  Nevertheless, considering the high cost of putting together, running and retaining a good sales team, it is likely to pay for itself in a few months.
